A member is in good standing upon payment of membership dues Text Box: Page 3 Text Box: Volume 1, Issue 1 Text Box: Message from the President It is my distinct  honor and  privilege to present to you the maiden issue of the “NEWSETTE’, the monthly publication of the AFAA-NY.     My congratulations to the         publication committee for a job well done.    One of the interesting article in this issue is PICPA’s Amnesty Program.  By paying the assessment fee of P2,000 or $40, you will be   reinstated as a PICPA member of good standing, a requirement to qualify in the CPA Reciprocity    Program in Maryland and other states.  What a   simple  way to get a CPA license!    The year past by so quickly, under my term, the year started with the induction of the officers. In February we had a   successful Valentine Dance Party  attended not only by the New York members but also by the New   Jersey Chapter as well.  In March, we were able to raise a substantial amount of contribution for the “Leyte Flood  Victims”.    I am excited in the upcoming NCPACA Summer Convention in San Franciso from June 30 to July 2, 2006.  Hope to see you  all there.    Until next time.           Mabuhay!                      Don Javier
